Would a lot of hobbies and extra cirriculars get me into TCU?
I’m applying to TCU (Texas Christian University) for hopefully a major in journalism. My grades are mediocre, about 3.0 GPA, but I’ve been in band for three years of high school, and went to state solo/ensemble competition for it last year. I was secretary of German language club, Vice President of the Band Council, and I’m in FFA this year (agriculture). I have not taken any regular courses, only AP and Pre-AP classes (advanced placement). I’m a student pilot, a published author in a seasonal literary magazine, on the school magazine, and I’m completely restoring a classic car, and rebuilt the engine. My grades aren’t bad, I guess, but is all the stuff I do outside, and all the things I’ve participated in helpful in getting to TCU? What do you think my chances are?
By the way, my ACT composite score is a 25
